The story mode alone takes 30 or more hours. Side content adds another 20. You are not downloading 39 GB for something you will finish in a weekend.

How to Download and Install GTA 5 Highly Compressed
- Download all parts first: The file comes in multiple parts. If even one part is missing, extraction will fail.
- Turn off your antivirus: Go to Windows Security, then Virus and Threat Protection, then Manage Settings. Turn off Real-time Protection before you extract. Turn it back on after installation is done.
- Extract using 7-Zip or WinRAR: Right-click Part 1 and select Extract Here. The tool pulls in the other parts automatically. Do not extract to a folder path with special characters. That causes silent failures.
- Install Visual C++ Redistributables: Open the Redist folder. Run both the x64 and x86 installers. GTA 5 will not launch without these.
- Install DirectX: Run DXSETUP.exe from the DirectX folder if it is there. This adds components Windows does not include by default.
- Run as Administrator: Right-click GTAV.exe or PlayGTAV.exe and choose Run as Administrator on your first launch.

Does this compressed version have all story missions?
All 69 story missions are here. The full three-act story is intact. What is not included is the Enhanced Edition content from 2022. This is the standard PC Story Mode version.
Will my antivirus flag this?
Windows Defender will almost certainly flag it during extraction. That is a false positive from the compression wrapper, not actual malware. If you want to double-check, scan the folder with Malwarebytes after installation, before running anything.
Does first-person mode work?
Yes. Press V to toggle it. FOV adjustment works. All vehicle cockpit interiors are fully rendered in first-person. Nothing was changed or removed during compression.
Can I play GTA Online with this version?
No. GTA Online needs a valid Rockstar account and a legitimate copy. Using a compressed version online will get your account banned. Story Mode, Director Mode, and Rockstar Editor all work offline.
Final Thoughts
GTA 5 Highly Compressed repack on a Core i3 with integrated graphics is not the perfect setup. But it works. You get 30 or more hours of story content at a playable framerate. On a 256 GB SSD, saving 81 GB compared to the full install is a real difference.
